This is an idea that has been brewing in the back of my head for quite a long time. It’s taken me longer still to get to this point. Then things happened in life, changes happened, etc. There are a million excuses for not moving forward, but I’m tired of accepting them. SO I started working on this. I expect this site will changes forms and appearances, probably what some would call rapidly, at first. If you choose to follow along on my journey, realize that the growing pains will be apparent. I’m not a web designer, or graphically artist. I enjoy making things, and learning how to make new things. My strength lies with my ability to craft the physical world, less so with the digital. So there will be much learning from experience with this website.

My plan for the initial offerings here will be mostly my failures and successes in learning to blacksmith. I have local practitioners of the the craft; as well as friends of mine who enjoy the craft, but have day jobs like me. I also have a local blacksmithing group that I will mention as well. None of the people or associations that I mention here sponsor me in any way. This is not a paid gig, I do not mention people because I am getting paid to. I mention them because I want to support them, or they have taught me something. If I ever (who knows how) get some sort of sponsorship, that will be explicitly declared somewhere for everyone to see. This is just mostly about my journey, and sharing the information I learn.

So, feel free to take a seat, stay a while, maybe even chime in. I am going to open up commenting, but you will have to register to do that. Feel free to use whatever email you like for that, even the 10-minute varieties. I do not really intend to send out email blasts, maybe if something drastic changes on the website. I mostly want to require registration as one of the efforts to prevent malicious activity. If you’re not okay with that, it’s fine. You can still come back to read what I post up, and see the various pictures of the day, featured videos, etc. I plan to keep this site fairly simple though, and easy to get around; while still providing interesting content. So yeah, relax and enjoy.

I had an issue with a recent update to Elementor (a framework that I use to build/maintain the site). I have discovered the problem, so now begins some more work on the site. I’m going to try to cover an upcoming tire-hammer class happening locally soon. So check back again, soon. Thanks!
